‘Stand Up For Heroes’ highlights

This is an official video for the ‘Stand Up For Heroes’ concert, held Nov.5th in New York City. It includes highlights from the show and almost complete versions of all the songs Bruce performed, including «Working on the Highway», «Growin’ Up», «If I Should Fall Behind», «Dancing in the Dark» and a brilliant version of «Born in the U.S.A.».

There’s also the auction of Bruce’s guitar, plus a private 1-hour guitar lesson… and dinner at his home! It fetched $300,000. Bruce sings «Mystery Train» at the end of the auction.

Bruce performed last night at Stand Up For Heroes

Bruce Springsteen performed last night at the 8th annual Stand Up For Heroes benefit show. As usual he told a few jokes, offered an acoustic performance and participated in the auction.

For his solo acoustic show he brought back the slide-guitar blues version of «Born in the U.S.A.» plus a long «Growin’ Up», preceded by a story.

Patti Scialfa dueted with Bruce on «If I Should Fall Behind». Other songs performed, to open and close the half-hour show, were «Working on the Highway» and «Dancing in the Dark». After the show Bruce auctioned two guitars (which fetched $300,000 each), a one-hour guitar lesson, a ride in his bike and a lasagna dinner at his house.

Springsteen will be playing at another benefit show next Tuesday: «The Concert for Valor», which will be held at the Mall in Washington on Nov.11th. It is a free show which will be broadcast live by HBO and the show’s website. Other performers include Carrie Underwood, The Black Keys, Eminem, Metallica, Rihanna and more.
