Family of Clarence Clemons sue doctors for malpractice

Showbiz411 published yesterday that Clarence Clemons’ family filed a malpractice suit in 2012 against Clarence’s doctors. Last month the case was approved to go ahead to a jury trial.
William Clemons– Clarence’s brother and father of Jake Clemons, who now plays with the E Street Band– filed his case against the Palm Beach Cancer Center and three physicians. The allegation is that the medical team involved may have made a mistake by advising that Clarence off of blood thinners when he had surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. By doing so, and not giving him intermediary blood thinners, they could have caused his stroke.

RIP Stanley Snadowsky

Stanley Snadowsky, founder, along with Allan Pepper, of the legendary New York nightclub The Bottom Line, passed away February 25th in Las Vegas. The club opened its doors in 1974, and Bruce Springsteen was one of the first, of many, to play there. He played there in July 1974, while touring for The Wild, The Innocent and The E Street Shuffle, though his most famous appearance happened in August of 1975 when Springsteen & The E Street Band offered a 10-show stand. The August 15th show was broadcast live on the radio and it’s one of Springsteen’s most famous shows, widely bootlegged.

Bruce came back to the club in 1976, for a unannounced guest performance with Patti Smith. Years later, in May ’92, Bruce played the Bottom Line for the last time when he offered a 90-minute private show for Sony executives, who heard many songs from the then brand new albums Human Touch and Lucky Town. The club finally closed in 2004.
