At the magnificent Arena di Verona there’s been quite a few surprises tonight. First, the tour debut of the American traditional «Samson And Delilah», and then two songs that sure might spark some controversy among fans on internet forums: a Patti Scialfa song, «Valerie», followed by another classic tour debut, «Bobby Jean». Yuks. Before Patti’s song Bruce announces Patti is leaving «to take care of the kids».

By encore time, yet another debut: a surprising, unexpected version of «Fire».

In the spectacular gardens of Villa Manin, Bruce & The Seeger Sessions band did a magnificent concert and debuted in this tour a very old song: «Growin’ Up», from his first album Greetings from Asbury Park. It was dedicated to his old fans (i miei fans anziani).

Tonight: concert in the spectacular Arena di Verona, the old roman amphitheatre, over 2,000 years old.

Second show in Italy, at the excellent Olympic Palace known as Palaisozaki, and Bruce delivers: four changes from the day before («Further On U’p The Road», «Erie Canal», «Long Time Comin’ and «Rag Mama Rag» -this one in the place of «You Can Look»). Next: Udine on wednesday.

Bruce is back in Europe, and tonight the first show of the Fall tour featured two premieres: the ‘irish’ version of «The River», and the traditional song «This Little Light of Mine». The show ended with «American Land».
