UPDATE According to Backstreets.com Clarence has undergone «two subsequent brain surgeries at a Florida hospital, the good news is that Clarence is currently responsive and in stable condition, though still in a fight for his life. «If anyone can pull off the miracle, it’s him,» says a close friend. «He’s fought back from so much before.»

Clarence Clemons, saxophonist in the E Street Band, 69, suffered a stroke on Saturday in Florida. The severity of the disease is unknown and so far there has been no official word. According to NJ.com, a source close to Clarence Clemons has confirmed the veracity of the news, without giving details about his current status or whether or not he’s been hospitalized.

The news was first published in the celebrity website Showbiz411, which states that members of the E Street Band have been alerted to travel down to Florida «as soon as possible«. Veteran journalist Roger Friedman describes the situation of the musician as «pretty dire».

The health of the legendary saxophonist has faltered in the last decade, although for different reasons, with multiple knee, hip and back surgeries. Here’s wishing Clarence will fully recover from his current situation and will soon return to the stage with Bruce Springsteen.

Stewart Francke will release his 11th studio album this month. And he has a very special guest: Bruce Springsteen sings on the first single off the album, titled «Summer Soldier».

Meanwhile Clarence Clemons’ contribution to Lady Gaga’s «The Edge of Glory», an advance of her new album, is now available on Youtube. Clarence also plays on the song «Hair», which should also be released next week.

Bruce and Patti are spending some days in Los Angeles, as some local papparazzi have witnessed. On April 10th the couple posed for photographers in an L.A. street. Three days later Bruce attended a show at the Smokehouse in Burbank by Joe Finkle & The 7/10 Splits. They had a picture together, as can be seen in Finkle’s website. Then on Saturday April 16th and official tweet by the American Idol show indicated Bruce was visiting them in the studio, though no TV appearance happened.
