The Rock’n’Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced the list of the 2004 inductees, and at long last The E Street Band is on that list. They will enter the Hall of Fame in the category of «Musical Excellence» (replacing the former «Sidemen» category).

The ceremony will take play at Barclays Center in Brookly, New York, on April 10th 2014. The members of the E Street Band that will be inducted are David Sancious, Vini Lopez, Garry Tallent, Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Max Weinberg, Steve Van Zandt, Roy Bittan, Patti Scialfa and Nils Lofgren. Surprisingly, 1974’s E Street Band drummer Ernest Boom Carter is not on that list. Though he was in the band for just a few months his contribution to Bruce’s career is important, as he’s the drummer on the studio version of Springsteen’s most important song: «Born to Run«.

Tickets to attend the induction ceremony will be on public sale in January. The show will be taped and then aired on HBO in May. There will be a special ticket sale for Hall of Fame members on Dec.31st at 11:59pm EST thru the Rock Hall website.
