Max Weinberg talked to the NY Post recently, to hint a new Springsteen album and tour could arrive in 2012: “The vibes are feeling right, maybe in the next year, to do something”. It is not the first time Max talks about a possible new tour. At a recent gig in Durham, North Carolina, he told the audience that they’d see him again with the E Street Band, likely not till next year.
Meanwhile Max Weinberg has a steady gig in New York City. With his 15-piece band he’ll be performing every Monday at the Hiro Ballroom in West Chelsea’s Maritime Hotel. There was a preview show this past Monday, Febr.14th, and the residence at the Hiro Ballroom begins on March 7th, with shows scheduled, at the moment, for March 14 and March 21. More shows will be eventually announced. Max and his band will perform sets at 6pm and 7pm.
Other active E Streeters include Nils Lofgren, with 4 shows scheduled for May, and working on a new solo album, and The Big Man: Clarence Clemons is readying a documentary titled ‘Who Do I Think I Am?’, due out this year according to IMDb, about Clarence’s trip to China in search of himself. See the trailer. Clarence and his band Temple of Soul will also be playing a free show at Mizner Park, in Boca Raton, FL, on Febr.19th. The show is a fundraiser for the Bicol Clinic Foundation.
And last but not least… Clarence has recently recorded with… Lady Gaga! Clarence plays sax in the song ‘Hair’, to be part of Gaga’s upcoming album Born this way.
