Charlottesville got quite a few tour premieres and surprises, and a stellar set list. The «Badlands» opener was followed by the always intense «Adam Raised a Cain», then «Outlaw Pete» and another gem off Darkness: «Candy’s Room»; and in the middle of the «crisis trilogy» there was a surprising and stunning premiere: no less than «Roulette». Keep it there, Bruce!

Come the sign request slots, there was «Spirit in the Night» and the Kinks’ «You Really Got Me» (see video) and a welcome track off Magic: «Gypsy Biker». A long and hot show that ended with Mitch Ryder’s «Detroit Medley».

En Charlottesville Bruce Springsteen ofreció anoche un concierto estelar, con un repertorio repleto de grandes canciones y algunas sorpresas. Al contundente inicio con «Badlands» enlazada con una incendiaria «Adam Raised a Cain» le siguieron «Outlaw Pete» y otra canción del Darkness: «Candy’s Room»; y en medio de la «trilogía de la crisis» golpea con un impacto inesperado: el estreno en la gira de «Roulette».

A medio concierto atiende las peticiones del personal, y suenan así «Spirit in the Night» y los estrenos de «You Really Got Me» (ver vídeo) (el clásico eterno de los Kinks) y las guitarras electrizantes de «Gypsy Biker». El concierto, de casi tres horas, acabó con la furia roquera del «Detroit Medley» de Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels.
