Joe Grushecky & Bruce Springsteen release new song

Once again Joe Grushecky and Bruce Springsteen have worked together. They’ve been doing so since 1994, when they recorded together the album American Babylon.

This time they’ve joined forces on a new song called «That’s What Makes Us Great», a new protest song directed to Donald Trump. Grushecky wrote the song and sent it to Springsteen, who recorded his vocal parts and sent it back.

The result of their new collaboration is released today. It will premiere on E Street Radio at 10 a.m. and will be available for download at Joegrushecky.com.

Bruce Springsteen publica sus memorias en español

El libro de memorias Born to Run, escrito por el propio Bruce Springsteen, promete desvelar detalles de su vida hasta ahora desconocidos en sus 500 páginas: cientos de anécdotas, detalles de su obra, sus giras y de su vida privada, incluyendo revelaciones sobre sus etapas de depresiones y medicación, como ha declarado en una interesantísima entrevista en la edición americana de Vanity Fair.

El libro se publicará en todo el mundo el 27 de septiembre, y eso incluye España, donde se publicará traducido al español.

ASBURY PARK, NJ (Oct. 26, 2015) – With a goal of topping last year’s record-breaking half million dollars raised in its ongoing battle against Parkinson’s disease, LIGHT OF DAY ‘SWEET LITTLE 16’ CELEBRATION, presented by the Asbury Park Press, the 16^th anniversary edition of the anchor event for the world-renowned Light of Day Foundation, will bring over 150 music acts to 30 venues over 10 days in three New Jersey cities, New York City, and Philadelphia, in January, following holiday season tours of Europe and Canada.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Oct. 31 at NOON EST for the Asbury Park portion of LIGHT OF DAY WINTERFEST 2016, where the bulk of the action will occur, being held Jan. 8-18, 2016 at such fabled rock venues as the Paramount Theater, the Stone Pony, and the Wonder Bar, among others.Tickets are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com), Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, and all Ticketmaster outlets (including select Walmart stores). A wide variety of combination ticket packages – as well as single tickets to each show – will be available.

Concert goers can purchase tickets for individual shows, on an a la carte basis, including the MAIN EVENT, BOB’S BIRTHDAY BASH, at the Paramount Theater, scheduled for Jan. 16, 2016. Tickets for the Main Event range from $43 to $209.50, and tickets for the other club shows range from Free to $45. Concert goers can purchase a LIGHT OF DAY COMBO TICKET PACKAGE to gain admission to all Asbury Park events (Approximately 50 EVENTS) at five different levels, starting at $159.50. The packages GUARANTEE a reserved seat for BOB’S BIRTHDAY BASH at the Paramount Theatre, along with admission to all shows, capacity permitting, first-come, first-served basis. Ticket prices DO NOT include any fees and/or service/convenience charges.

El pasado mes de enero asistimos a un impresionante concierto de Joe Grushecky y Bruce Springsteen en el pequeño teatro Paramount de Asbury Park. Este próximo año, una vez conocidas las fechas del festival Light of Day, nos aventuramos a repetir la experiencia.

Tenemos el placer de anunciar que volveremos a Nueva Jersey para los conciertos del festival Light of Day y para visitar la tierra natal de Springsteen. Tras el éxito de los viajes que hicimos en 2004, 2005, 2011, 2014 y 2015 hemos decidido volver a Nueva Jersey y Nueva York.

¿Cansado de las mismas vacaciones navideñas año tras año? Resérvate unos días de vacaciones para algo distinto, especial y fantástico para cualquier fan de Springsteen. Ven con nosotros a visitar la tierra natal de Bruce Springsteen: Nueva Jersey, y también la increíble ciudad de Nueva York. Ambos lugares inspiraron las canciones de los primeros discos del artista y fueron escenario de su crecimiento y correrías.

Visitaremos la ciudad donde se crió y creció y empezó a tocar con los Castiles: Freehold. También Asbury Park, su cuna musical, donde creó Steel Mill y la Bruce Springsteen Band, donde tocó en infinidad de clubs durante tantas noches, donde conoció a Danny Federici y Clarence Clemons y donde se inspiró para su primer disco. Asbury Park es el corazón de la escena musical de la cual surgió Springsteen.

Y por supuesto pasaremos varios días en la capital del mundo, Nueva York, ¡visita obligada!

La culminación del viaje serán los conciertos del festival Light of Day, en su 16º aniversario. Springsteen es uno de los habituales del festival. Aunque Bruce nunca forma parte del cartel oficial, ha aparecido sin previo aviso en doce de las quince ediciones anteriores, dando conciertos con Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile y otros. Los años en que aparece se convierte sin duda en la guinda del pastel. Este año dispondremos de entradas Gold y Platinum para el festival, en las primeras filas del teatro. En el festival actúan artistas norteamericanos nacionales y locales, y por él han pasado (además de Bruce) Southside Johnny, Patti Scialfa, Gary US Bonds, Max Weinberg, Jesse Malin, Lucinda Williams y muchos más…

Estancia en Nueva York los días 12, 13 y 14 de enero
Ruta guiada (en autocar privado) por New Jersey el 15 de enero.
Estancia en Asbury Park los días 15 y 16 de enero con motivo del festival Light of Day.
Regreso el Domingo 17 de enero de 2016 (llegada a España el lunes 18 de enero por la mañana)

Bruce Springsteen surprises Asbury crowd

Last Saturday Joe Grushecky was playing at the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park when his old pal Bruce Springsteen showed up and jumped onstage to play for about two hours. The sweaty small club was packed and Bruce delivered a hot performance.

The setlist was pretty much the same as the Light of Day benefit show held last January at the nearby Paramount Theatre, with some Grushecky-penned songs («Pumping Iron», «Talking to the King» or «Chain Smokin'») and a lot of Springsteen’s (including «Adam Raised a Cain», «Save My Love», «Racing in the Street ’78», «Frankie Fell in Love», «Pink Cadillac» and a great «Because the Night»). E Street Band’s saxman Eddie Manion was part of Joe G’s band.

Joe will be back in Asbury Park in October with a show to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Springsteen-produced album «American Babylon».
