Asbury Park murals need your help

Four years ago, Springsteen fans helped rescue three very large wall murals from the Palace in Asbury Park. The murals include Tillie, the Palace fun face used by Springsteen in a famous 1973 publicity photo. The State of New Jersey ordered the City and the developers who are rebuilding the waterfront to preserve the murals, and to reuse them in a new building. But as of today, the developers and the City of Asbury Park have ignored the order. To help preserve the murals, before time runs out, please sign the preservation petition at www.PalacePetition.com and ask your friends and family to help.

Third night at Giants Stadium

Thursday’s show featured a stunning set list to close the 3-night stand. The show opened with a killer duo: «Summertime Blues» and «Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out». Next were quite a lot of classic 70’s Bruce, with «Spirit in the Night», «Blinded by the Light», «Night», «Candy’s Room», «Incident on 57th Street» and «Jungleland», mixed with some 80’s stuff: «Cadillac Ranch», «Two Hearts», «Brilliant Disguise» or «Light of Day».

The biggest surprise was the tour debut of Manfred Mann’s «Pretty Flamingo», dedicated to Clarence Clemons’ new wedding. The last encore songs were «Jersey Girl» and «Rosalita».

Back in the USA

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are back home and started Sunday nigh the final leg of the Magic tour with the first of three shows at New Jersey’s Giants Stadium. The show opened with «Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out» and featured some cool versions of «Summertime Blues», «Spirit in the Night», «Atlantic City»and «Jungeland», plus welcomed returns: «I’ll Work for your Love» and «Adam Raised a Cain».

«Rosalita» was the final encore of a show that lasted well over 3 hours.
