Springsteen’s ’57 Chevy up for auction

Yes, you can own Springsteen mythical ’57 Chevy, the very same one that was in display at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. All you need is bid a minimun of 390,000 US $ thru the auction site Gotta Have Rock’n’roll. Bruce bought the car in May of 1975 and sold it a year later, after he became a public figure with Born to Run and opted for a more discreet vehicle. The auction begins on April 16th.

The Promise documentary to be sold separately from boxset

Yes, you read it correctly. The Thom Zimny documentary The Promise: The Making of Darkness on the Edge of Town will be re-released on May 3rd on both DVD and Bluray formats, separately from the Darkness box set. It will include some bonus material:

«Songs from The Promise». 5 songs from the Dec.2010 performance at the Carousel House in Asbury Park (Racing in the Street ’78, Gotta Get That Feeling, Ain’t Good Enough For You, The Promise, Blue Christmas). Yes, those are the same songs that were available on the internet that same month. And yes, we won’t see the rest of the show.

«A Conversation with fans». The interview/conversation Springsteen had with his fans at Sirius Radio, recently aired on VH1.

Meanwhile, on April 16th a 10″ vinyl disc will be released for the Record Store Day in the US, with two songs off the Carousel show: «Gotta Get That Feeling» and «Racing in the Street ’78».

Springsteen exhibit moves to Philly

The Springsteen exhibit at Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had its final day yesterday. And Bruce Springsteen himself paid an unnanounced visit to the Museum yesterday. Along with curator Jim Henke and other members of the Hall, Bruce visited his own exhibit and the rest of the museum, and had time to chat with (surprised) fans and have some pictures taken (see photo gallery).

The good news, though, is that the exhibit might now move to Philly. According to NJ Com’s Stan Goldstein, the exhibit will be at the Constitution Museum in the Spring of 2012. Further proof? A display seen at the National Constitution Center already announces the exhibit.
