22 mayo, 2009Bruce Springsteen played last night the first of two sold-out shows at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. No tour debuts, but instead the band delivered a great performance with quite a bunch of classic 70′s stuff like “Adam Raised a Cain”, “Prove it All Night”, “Growin’ Up”, “Thunder Road”, “Jungleland” and “Rosalita”. The last one closed the show, after Bruce said “Is this New Jersey? We can’t go home until we’ve played this one!”. Both Patti and Jay were back in the band. Jay played the whole show. But the big news of the night was the confirmation that Springsteen and the E Street Band will be back in Jersey in the fall. Bruce himself announced it during the show. Before it is demolished, Springsteen will be the last artist to perform at Giants Stadium, with 3 shows on Sept. 30th, Oct.,2nd and Oct.3rd. Tickets will go on sale June 1st.

22 mayo, 2009Bruce Springsteen dio ayer el primero de dos conciertos en el pabellón de deportes Izod Center, en East Rutherford, Nueva Jersey. No hubo estrenos, pero sí una buena colección de canciones de todas las épocas, con énfasis en su cancionero clásico de los años 70. Así, sonaron “Adam Raised a Cain”, “Prove it All Night”, “Growin’ Up”, “Thunder Road”, “Jungleland” y “Rosalita”, esta última como fin de concierto: “¿Es esto Nueva Jersey?. No me puedo ir sin tocar ésta”. Patti estuvo en este concierto, y también Jay, batería durante toda la noche. Ver set list completo.
Pero la noticia de la noche fue la confirmación de que Springsteen y la E Street Band volverán a Nueva Jersey en otoño. El propio Bruce lo anunció durante el concierto y la zona estaba plagada de pósters y anuncios al respecto. Antes de que la piqueta empiece a derribar el viejo estadio de los Giants, Bruce dará tres conciertos: el 30 de septiembre y los días 2 y 3 de octubre.
Según el comunicado oficial, Bruce será el último grupo musical en tocar en este estadio. Springsteen tiene el record de actuaciones en el complejo deportivo de Meadowlands (que incluye el Izod Center -antes conocido como Continental Arena y también Brendan Byrne Arena- y el Giants Stadium). Hasta ahora el artista ha tocado en estos recintos en 56 ocasiones.
Las entradas para los conciertos de otoño se pondrán a la venta el próximo 1 de junio.

With numerous set list changes from the previous show, Springsteen offers a show full of vintage songs. After opening with “Badlands” there’s “Candy’s Room”, “Jackson Cage” and “She’s the One”, plus “Darkness” a little later (sign request), and lots of classic covers. From the previously performed (“Good Lovin” and “Mony Mony”), to the tour debut of Bob Dylan’s classic “Like A Rolling Stone”.Come the encores, and in good tradition, Pittsburgh native Joe Grushecky joins Bruce onstage for “Glory Days”.
Set list correction: “Raise Your Hand” was not performed in Pittsburgh. “Good Lovin” took its place. Johnny Grushecky also guested on “Glory Days”.

20 mayo, 2009Con numerosos cambios respecto a la noche anterior, Springsteen ofrece en Pittsburgh un concierto repleto de canciones de su época clásica. Tras la apertura con “Badlands” llegan “Candy’s Room”, “Jackson Cage” y “She’s the One”, a la que se añadirá “Darkness” posteriormente (a petición de un fan). Del concierto destacan la recuperación de algunas versiones estrenadas durante la gira, como “Good Lovin” (que sustituye a “Raise Your Hand” en el momento de recoger carteles con peticiones) o “Mony Mony”, a las cuales se une el estreno de “Like A Rolling Stone”, la mítica canción de Bob Dylan. Al final del concierto, y siguiendo la tradición de los conciertos en Pittsburgh, Joe Grushecky y su hijo Johnny suben al escenario para cantar “Glory Days” con Bruce. -
