Bruce, Southside, at private benefit concert last night

Once again Bruce Springsteen, plus Patti Scialfa, Southside Johnny & assorted musicians, performed at a secret benefit concert last night at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park.Like they did in May, this was a school benefit, only this time it was for the Ranney School that one of Bruce’s kids attend. The show lasted over two hours, and it included a similar song list to the previous Rumson Country Day School benefits, with songs like “634-5789″, “The Fever” and “Seven Nights to Rock”.

Concierto secreto de Bruce Springsteen

Nuevamente, y sin previo aviso, Bruce Springsteen dio el domingo un concierto benéfico en el club Stone Pony de Asbury Park. Acompañado de Patti Scialfa, Southside Johnny y otros músicos, Springsteen tocó durante más de dos horas todo tipo de versiones, como ya hizo el 2 de mayo en el concierto para la escuela Rumson Day Country Day School. En esta ocasión el concierto era a beneficio de la Ranney School, donde va a clase su hijo pequeño. Sonaron, entre otras, “Seven Nights to Rock”, “Seaside Bar Song”, “The Fever” y “634-5789″. Set list completo en la sección Conciertos.También en Asbury Park, hoy se han reiniciado los ensayos en el Paramount Theatre con la Seeger Sessions Band, de cara a la gira europea de Octubre, aunque no está claro si habrá entradas a la venta para ninguno de estos ensayos.

Springsteen to contribute to Jesse Malin & Gary Busey albums

Always ready to give a little help to his friends, Springsteen appears on the new album by Joe Grushecky (on 4 tracks, including a tremendous duet on the opening track: “Code of Silence”, which both co-wrote), plus Sam Moore‘s “Overnight Sensational” (singing a full verse on “Better to Have and Not Need”) and the forthcoming Jerry Lee Lewis album “Last Man Standing” where both sing together Bruce’s own “Pink Cadillac”.But there’s more. Bruce has contributed vocals to a song for Jesse Malin‘s upcoming third album (titled “Glitter in the Gutter”). Jesse’s album is due out Spring 2007.
In a recent interview, actor Gary Busey confirms he’s working on a Buddy Holly tribute album that will include Springsteen’s version of “Rave On”, the very same song they performed together onstage at the Spectrum in Philadelphia in August of 1978, when Bruce invited Busey onstage for a couple of nights. They had previously joined forced at a club show in L.A. in July ’78, when Bruce was the guest at the Old Dog Band show in a small club outside L.A. -

Tras colaborar en los discos de Sam Moore, Joe Grushecky y Jerry Lee Lewis, se ha anunciado ahora su colaboración en los próximos discos de Jesse Malin (foto) y Gary Busey.El neoyorquino Jesse Malin editará su tercer disco (“Glitter in the Gutter”) la próxima primavera, y ha confirmado que Springsteen colabora cantando en una de las canciones. Jesse fue uno de los invitados a actuar en los conciertos de Navidad de Springsteen de diciembre de 2003. Jesse debutó en solitario (tras su paso por D-Generation) en 2002 con el extraordinario “The Fine Art of Self-Destruction”.
La historia del actor Gary Busey con Bruce se remonta a 1978, cuando Busey protagonizó la película “The Buddy Holly Story” haciendo, precisamente, el papel de Buddy Holly. Durante la estancia de Springsteen en California en julio del 78, Bruce tocó con Busey (su hermano lideraba el grupo The Old Dog Band) en un pequeño club en las afueras de Los Ángeles, justo el día antes de que Springsteen diera su mítico concierto en el Roxy. Dos meses después Busey fue invitado a tocar en los dos conciertos de Bruce en el Spectrum de Philadelphia, el 18 y 19 de agosto. Cantaron juntos “Rave On” y “Quarter to Three”. Casi treinta años después sus caminos se encuentran de nuevo, y Gary Busey ha indicado en una entrevista reciente que Springsteen volverá a cantar con él la canción “Rave On”, esta vez para un disco de homenaje a Buddy Holly que Gary está preparando y editará en 2007.
Donde sí podemos escuchar ya a Springsteen es en los discos de Joe Grushecky, Sam Moore y Jerry Lee Lewis. Entra en la tienda para escuchar las colaboraciones que Bruce ha hecho con Grushecky (abriendo su disco con una tremenda versión de “Code of Silence”) y Jerry Lee Lewis (cantando “Pink Cadillac”). En el disco de Sam Moore (“Overnight Sensational”) Bruce canta de forma brillante y con una estupenda voz “soul” una estrofa entera del tema “”Better to Have And Not Need”. -
