Springsteen recupera la eléctrica en un concierto benéfico en Nueva York

Tras diversas apariciones tanto en conciertos benéficos como en televisión acompañado tan solo de una guitarra acústica, Springsteen volvió a empuñar esta semana una guitarra eléctrica, su clásica Telecaster de madera. El día 13 actuó en el concierto John Henry’s Friends celebrado en el Town Hall de Nueva York, acompañado de The Dukes, la banda de Steve Earle, quien también actuó esa noche, además de Willie Nile, Rosanne Cash, The Mastersons y Matt Savage.

Arrancó con las emocionantes «Darkness on the Edge of Town» y «The Promised Land», donde los Dukes cumplieron bien con su papel, y posteriormente cantó «Glory Days» con Willie Nile y «Pink Cadillac» con Steve Earle, para finalmente unirse al elenco completo, compartiendo tareas vocales en «Teach Your Children» (de Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, una canción que ya había cantado en otra ocasión: en 1986 en el concierto Bridge Benefit organizado por Neil Young).

Light of Day 2021, festival virtual con Bruce Springsteen

La pandemia ha impedido que el festival Light of Day se pudiera celebrar este año en Asbury Park con total normalidad. En su lugar la fundación Light of Day decidió hacer una emisión virtual por internet. Durante tres días emitieron numerosas actuaciones por sus canales en Facebook y Youtube, algunas nuevas y otras rescatadas de la edición de enero del 2020.

Eso permitió que se pudiera ver por primera vez gran parte de la actuación de Springsteen con Joe Grushecky del año anterior (incluyendo «Pumpin’ Iron», «Never Be Enough Time», «Darkness on the Edge of Town», «Atlantic City», «Talking to the King», «Light of Day», «The Promised Land», «Thunder Road») así como sus apariciones durante los conciertos de Jesse Malin y Willie Nile.

ASBURY PARK, NJ (Oct. 26, 2015) – With a goal of topping last year’s record-breaking half million dollars raised in its ongoing battle against Parkinson’s disease, LIGHT OF DAY ‘SWEET LITTLE 16’ CELEBRATION, presented by the Asbury Park Press, the 16th anniversary edition of the anchor event for the world-renowned Light of Day Foundation, will bring over 150 music acts to 30 venues over 10 days in three New Jersey cities, New York City, and Philadelphia, in January, following holiday season tours of Europe and Canada.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Oct. 31 at NOON EST for the Asbury Park portion of LIGHT OF DAY WINTERFEST 2016, where the bulk of the action will occur, being held Jan. 8-18, 2016 at such fabled rock venues as the Paramount Theater, the Stone Pony, and the Wonder Bar, among others.Tickets are available through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com), Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000, and all Ticketmaster outlets (including select Walmart stores). A wide variety of combination ticket packages – as well as single tickets to each show – will be available.

Concert goers can purchase tickets for individual shows, on an a la carte basis, including the MAIN EVENT, BOB’S BIRTHDAY BASH, at the Paramount Theater, scheduled for Jan. 16, 2016. Tickets for the Main Event range from $43 to $209.50, and tickets for the other club shows range from Free to $45. Concert goers can purchase a LIGHT OF DAY COMBO TICKET PACKAGE to gain admission to all Asbury Park events (Approximately 50 EVENTS) at five different levels, starting at $159.50. The packages GUARANTEE a reserved seat for BOB’S BIRTHDAY BASH at the Paramount Theatre, along with admission to all shows, capacity permitting, first-come, first-served basis. Ticket prices DO NOT include any fees and/or service/convenience charges.
