La gira de Little Steven pasará por Barcelona

Tras un primer concierto con los nuevos Disciples of Soul en Londres el pasado mes de noviembre (un show extraordinario que se saldó con un gran éxito), Little Steven ha decidido continuar la aventura con la edición de un nuevo disco, Soulfire (a la venta el 19 de mayo), y una nueva gira por Estados Unidos y Europa.

La buena noticia es que la gira recalará en Barcelona, dentro del festival Cruïlla, el sábado 8 de julio. Será la única oportunidad de ver a Little Steven con una extensa banda que incluye coristas y sección de viento, y que centra su repertorio en todos los clásicos que escribió para sus discos en solitario («Until the Good is Gone», «Forever») y los discos de Southside Johnny («I Don’t Want To Go Home», «Some Things Just Don’t Change», «Love On The Wrong Side of Town») o Gary US Bonds («Standing in the Line of Fire»), además de temas recientes y versiones de blues y R&B («The Blues is My Business» de Etta James, «Down and Out In New York City» de James Brown o «Can I Get a Witness» de Marvin Gaye).

Little Steven & The Disciples Of Soul on tour

After the success of his London show last November, Little Steven decided to revive his solo career in 2017. A new album called Soulfire will be released May 19th and a full tour in the US & Europe has been announced, with new dates possibly being added.

The third and final night in Perth featured a 27-song set with 12 new songs not performed at the previous two shows.

Bruce maintains the magnificent «New York City Serenade» as opener, and tonight’s show was followed by an intense rock marathon with «Night», «Saint in the City», «Cover Me», «Radio Nowhere» and «Glory Days».

Some more songs from The River came out, with «Hungry Heart», «Ramrod», «You Can Look» and the majestic «Drive All Night».

The first encore featured the epic «Backstreets», plus a welcome «Seven Nights to Rock» and «Bobby Jean» as closing song. The next show, in Adelaida, will be this next Monday, January 30th.

Tercer y último concierto en Perth

La serie de tres conciertos en Perth, Australia, ha finalizado hoy con una actuación donde Bruce Springsteen, acompañado de la E Street Band, ha interpretado 27 canciones, doce de ellas diferentes respecto a los dos primeros días.

Bruce sigue abriendo los conciertos cada noche con la memorable «New York City Serenade», hoy seguida de intensas rágafas de rock con «Night», «Saint in the City», «Cover Me», «Radio Nowhere» y «Glory Days».

También ha recuperado algunas canciones de The River (aunque la gira australiana no lleve ese nombre oficialmente, sino gira «Verano 2017»), como «Hungry Heart», «Ramrod», «You Can Look» o la majestuosa «Drive All Night».

Como es habitual la tanda de bises se ha iniciado con otra de sus canciones épicas. Si en el concierto anterior fue «Jungleland», en esta ocasión ha sido «Backstreets». El próximo concierto, en Adelaide, será el lunes 30 de enero.

The return of Little Steven

stevenbluesfestticketsThe news came yesterday out of the blue when Steve Van Zandt announced on Twitter his return to the stages with The Disciples of Soul. They’ll be performing at the BluesFest in London, at O2’s Indigo, on October 29th. Tickets go on sale Friday Oct.14th at 9am.

Steve will be back as Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul, though with a reformed band full of new musicians (up to 15, according to a recent tweet). If he’s happy with the results the plan is to do a full tour in the Summer of 2017.
