Springsteen sigue recibiendo elogios por Magic

Springsteen es portada esta semana de la edición americana de la revista Rolling Stone. La revista publica una interesante entrevista que Joe Levy tuvo con Springsteen en Asbury Park durante los ensayos para la gira Magic.

«Últimamente he tenido un pequeño romance con mis canciones más antiguas. Había mucha libertad en ellas. Cuando empiezas y cuando acabas, es entonces cuando no hay presión. Al principio, eres un desconocido, realmente no estás compitiendo con nadie. Y en este momento, no estoy compitiendo con 50 Cent o intentando salir en MTV. Toco para mi y mi banda y mi público».

En Inglaterra, la revista MOJO no ha dudado en dar 5 estrellas al disco, clasificado como «clásico instantáneo».

This week’s Rolling Stone features Bruce on the cover. «Bruce Springsteen’s Restless Heart», shows the cover. Inside there’s an interview with the artist, done by Joe Levy in Asbury Park (read).

«Lately, I’ve had a little romance with my oldest stuff» he says. «There was a lot of freeness in it. When you start and when you finish — that’s when the pressure is off. In the beginning, you’re too unknown, you’re not really competing with people. And at this point, I’m not competing with 50 Cent or trying to get on MTV. I’m playing for myself and my band and my audience.»

In the UK, MOJO magazine has given 5 stars to the album Magic, reviewed by Keith Cameron. The magazine considers the new record «an instant classic«.

La Fundación «Joe Torre Safe at Home», dedicada a la lucha contra la violencia doméstica, ha anunciado que Bruce Springsteen dará un concierto en solitario en la 5ª gala Anual de la fundación. El evento tendrá lugar el viernes, 9 de noviembre, en el Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers, en Nueva York. Más información en la web de Joe Torre Safe At Home. El precio de la entrada más barata es de 2.500 dólares. Este será el segundo concierto benéfico en el que Bruce participará esa semana.

Yesterday’s gig in Toronto featured the tour debut of «For You», one of the best songs from Bruce’s debut album Greetings From Asbury Park NJ. Still on the set list remain jewels like «Incident on 57th Street» and «Night», and «Thundercrack» comes back to the encores.
