Moncton
Bruce Springsteen’s Canadian tour made a stop in Moncton, New Brunswick, where he played for the first time ever. Bruce and the band performed before a virgin audience, as it seems most of them had never seen Bruce live before. And they got a 3-hour performance, full of classics and greatest hits, rather than the mix of hits and rarities and obscure songs that he’s been offering in recent months.
The Moncton audience got to hear lots of crowd-favorites such as «Working on the Highway», «Darlington County», «Glory Days», «Hungry Heart», «Dancing in the Dark», «No Surrender», «Lonesome Day» and «The Rising», along with most of his classic signature songs: «Thunder Road», «Born to Run», «The Promised Land», «Badlands», «Because the Night» or «The River». The show also featured a couple of not-so-common performances: «Pay Me My Money Down», and the solo piano version of «If I Should Fall Behind».
There were over 30,000 people at the show, a very enthusiastic crowd, as Bruce recognized saying «You’re pretty lively out there Moncton!»: Bruce got a little help from The Trews and Tom Cochrane (who played on the same stage, before him) as they were invited to go onstage for «Twist & Shout». Bruce’s final words were “Moncton! We’ll be back! Incredible!”.
