Especial Springsteen en el canal Palladia

Cuando el 15 de noviembre Bruce Springsteen fue entrevistado por una veintena de fans en los estudios de Sirius Radio (ver noticia en Point Blank), no sólo había micros emitiendo la entrevista por radio, sino que un equipo de cámaras a cargo de Thom Zimny filmó el momento. Ahora sabemos porqué: el 4 de febrero a las 9pm (EST) el canal de televisión americano Palladia emitirá un programa especial titulado «Bruce Springsteen: A Conversation With His Fans», que incluirá la sesión de preguntas y respuestas de Sirius además de las mejores imágenes extraidas del documental de la caja The Promise, el concierto del 2009 en el Paramount Theatre y el concierto en el Carousel de Asbury Park, junto a imágenes inéditas de 1978. El programa se re-emitirá posteriormente en VH1 Classic.

Springsteen delivers 3-hour rock show in Asbury Park

Just a few weeks after his performance at the Light of Day show in Asbury Park, Bruce Springsteen came back to the town to perform for the annual benefit show for The Ranney School. The private show was held at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, where Bruce performed a 3-hour marathon show, with help from Max Weinberg, Southside Johnny and Bobby Bandiera and his band.

A career spanning show that included songs from his early albums («Growin ‘ Up», «Spirit in the Night», «Born to Run», «Sandy», «Rosalita» or «Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out»), his most recent ones («My Lucky Day», «Working on a Dream»), along with classic covers («Seven Nights to Rick», «Twist and Shout» or «Havin’ a Party»), duets with Southside Johnny (on «The Fever» or Miami Steve’s «I Don’t Wanna Go Home»), plus a few songs of the brand new outtakes album The Promise («Get That Feeling», «Talk to me» and «Save my Love»), and a beautiful acoustic «Thunder Road» to end the show. Among the special guests there was photographer Danny Clinch, and Adele, Bruce’s mother, who dancing onstage with his song during «Dancing in the Dark».

Maratón de rock en Asbury Park

Como viene siendo tradición desde hace unos cuantos años, Bruce Springsteen actuó en beneficio de la escuela de su hijo, The Ranney School. El concierto privado (a 500 dólares la entrada, y exclusivo para profesores y padres de alumnos de la escuela) tuvo lugar el pasado sábado 29 de enero en el club Stone Pony de Asbury Park. Acompañado de Max Weinberg, Southside Johnny y la banda de Bobby Bandiera, Springsteen tocó durante tres horas, dando un repaso completo a su carrera.

Sonaron temas de sus primeros discos (como «Growin ‘ Up», «Spirit in the Night», «Born to Run», «Sandy», «Rosalita» o «Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out»), y también recientes («My Lucky Day», «Working on a Dream»), junto a versiones («Seven Nights to Rick», «Twist and Shout» o «Havin’ a Party»), los duetos clásicos con Southside Johnny (en «The Fever» o «I Don’t Wanna Go Home»), tres de las canciones recuperadas en The Promise («Get That Feeling», «Talk to me» y «Save my Love») y el cierre final con otra versión acústica de «Thunder Road» cantada por todo el público. Entre los invitados estuvieron el fotógrafo Danny Clinch, y Adele, la madre de Bruce, quien subió al escenario para bailar en «Dancing in the Dark».
