Springsteen to resume tour in 2013

According to serveral sources, Bruce Springsteen plans to continue his Wrecking Ball tour in 2013. The tour plans are in the works now, pending to be confirmed, and they could include shows in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia and South America, though nothing is set in stone yet. And if you think this is just the usual rumour, just a few days ago Steve Van Zandt was interviewed in Lisbon by the Argentinian newspaper La Nación and mentioned the possibility:

-It’s common to say everybody comes to Buenos Aires to play, and seems this is gonna happen when you come back.

-We’re gonna try this year. I assume at the end of this year or, at the most, early next year, we’ll be down there with this tour. It is ridiculous, isn’t it? We don’t know why we hadn’t come all these years. We know we have a lot of Argentinian fans, people who’d love to see the band. Maybe my TV succes can bring us down there (laughs). Please tell all your readers that we want to go and we’re gonna try it.

Según diversas fuentes consultadas, Bruce Springsteen planea continuar su gira Wrecking Ball en 2013. La continuación de la gira estaría ahora mismo en planificación, pendiente de ser confirmada, y el artista podría tocar en ciudades de Estados Unidos, Europa, Japón, Australia y Sudamérica. Y no se trata de un simple rumor, pues el propio Steve Van Zandt declaró al periódico argentino La Nación (en una entrevista realizada hace pocos días en Lisboa) que hay planes para tocar en Sudamérica, y en concreto en Argentina, donde sólo han tocado en 1988:
-Es común decir que todos vienen a tocar a Buenos Aires, pero eso recién se va a cumplir cuando vengan ustedes.

-Lo vamos a intentar este año. Calculo que hacia fines de este año o, a lo sumo, comienzos del próximo, vamos a estar por allá con esta gira. Ya es ridículo, ¿No? No sabemos por qué no fuimos en todos estos años. Sabemos que tenemos muchos fans argentinos, gente que amaría ver a la banda. A lo mejor mi éxito televisivo pueda llevarnos, jajaja. Por favor, deciles a todos los lectores que queremos ir y que lo vamos a intentar.

Nineteen years after his visit to Portugal, Bruce Springsteen came back, only this time it was with the legendary E Street Band. And he offered a 2h 20min show in the gitantic stage of Lisbon’s Rock in Rio festival, full of his greatest hits before an estimated audience of 80,000 people. Parte of the show was aired live via Youtube, including 6 songs: «Spirit in the Night», «Because the Night», «No Surrender», «She’s the One», «I’m On Fire» and «Shackled and Drawn»). When the show was over and the sky was filled with fireworkds, the crowd kept cheering and Bruce came back for an extra encore after «Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out» (first time on this tour): «Twist & Shout».

Diecinueve años después de su primera visita a Portugal, Bruce Springsteen volvió, aunque en esta ocasión acompañado de la E Street Band. En el gigantesco escenario del festival Rock in Rio de Lisboa ofreció una actuación de dos horas y veinte minutos, repleta de grandes éxitos que hicieron vibrar a los 80.000 asistentes. La parte central del concierto fue retransmitida en directo en Youtube (ver vídeo), e incluyó 6 canciones («Spirit in the Night», «Because the Night», «No Surrender», «She’s the One», «I’m On Fire» y «Shackled and Drawn»). Cuando el concierto había terminado ya y el cielo se llenó de fuegos artificiales, el público portugués siguió coreando y Bruce volvió al escenario para dar un bis extra, «Twist & Shout», algo que no había hecho en la gira hasta ahora.
