After weeks of rumours, it is now official: Bruce Springsteen will have a new album out soon, and he will tour with The E Street Band in 2012. This is the announcement posted today on BS.net:
Well, things are starting to heat up down on E Street.
A lot of you have been hearing that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be on tour in 2012. That is absolutely correct. The European dates run from the middle of May until end of July and are being announced this week. Info on the US dates and the World tour dates will coming up shortly.
In addition, we want you to know that the music is almost done (but still untitled), we have almost settled on the release date (but not quite yet), and that we are all incredibly excited about everything that we’re planning for 2012. That’s all the info we have for right now, but we’ll get back to you–real soon.
Meanwhile four dates have been announced in the UK:
21 June, Sunderland, Stadium of Light
22 June, Manchester City Stadium
24 June Isle of Wight Festival
14 July Hyde Park, London.
Ya es oficial. Mediante un comunicado oficial en su página web Bruce Springsteen ha confirmado que la E Street Band se reunirá en 2012 para una gira mundial, cuyos detalles se anunciarán pronto. Esta es la nota oficial:
Se empiezan a mover cosas en la calle E.
Muchos habéis oido que Bruce Springsteen y la E Street Band estarán de gira en 2012. Eso es totalmente correcto. Los conciertos en Europa tendrán lugar de mediados de mayo a finales de julio y se anunciarán esta semana. La información de las fechas en Estados Unidos y el resto del mundo se anunciarán en breve.
Además, queremos que sepáis que el disco está casi acabado (aunque sin título), y la fecha de edición está casi decidida (pero no del todo), y que estamos tremendamente emocionados con todo lo que estamos preparando para 2012. Esto es todo lo que podemos confirmar por ahora, pero seguiremos informando muy pronto.
Mientras tanto, en el Reino Unido ya se han anunciado cuatro conciertos:
21 de junio, Sunderland, Stadium of Light
22 de junio, estadio Manchester City
24 de junio en el festival Isle of Wight
14 de julio en el Hyde Park de Londres (como parte del festival Hard Rock Calling).
España, sin duda, recibirá la visita de Bruce Springsteen. Se espera que mañana se anuncien las fechas definitivas.
La misma semana se han publicado en Estados Unidos dos discos destacados de miembros de la E Street Band. El guitarrista Nils Lofgren edita , donde de nuevo brilla su espectacular guitarra y las colaboraciones de músicos excelsos como Paul Rodgers, Lou Gramm, Sam Moore o Gary Bruzzese. Un disco que dedica a Clarence Clemons y que, sin duda, es una de sus mejores obras, con temazos de rock, blues, medios tiempos y baladas que recuerdan a sus discos clásicos de los 70.
A título póstumo se ha editado también un CD-Single de Clarence Clemons, con 3 canciones. No se trata de sus últimas grabaciones, sino de 3 temas que Clarence grabó en el verano de 1981 a petición de los productores Dennis Bourke y Jim Nuzzo y que quedaron en el archivo, hasta ahora. Dos canciones navideñas en las cuales destaca la voz de Clarence en la nostálgica y emotiva «There’s Still Christmas», y su tórrido saxo en las dos versiones de «The Christmas Song» (de Nat King Cole) que se incluyen en este single. La foto de portada, con Clarence con el gorro de Santa Claus, se tomó durante las sesiones.

Thursday night, in Raleigh (North Carolina). Taylor Swift played in the city and went onstage with a huge tattoo on her arm with the lyrics to «No Surrender», and afterwards got a very special guest backstage: Bruce Springsteen himself, who sang «Dancing in the Dark» to her.
Taylor herself has posted the photo and the story on Twitter: «I’ll never forget when Bruce Springsteen played ‘Dancing in the Dark’ backstage at my show on my guitar, then signed it. Such a beautiful night in Raleigh».
