In his second show in Norway, Bruce delivered an intense 25-song set. Though it may seem short, it was a long set of nearly three hours, which surprisingly started with a hot «Prove it all night» followed by «Badlands» and «My Lucky Day». There were 9 different songs from the first show, including «Spirit in the Night», «Cover me», «Thunder Road» and the tour premieres of «Boom Boom» (the classic John Lee Hooker tune) and «Two Hearts».

Because of the wind and intense cold, there was no interruption after the end of the main set with «Born to run», and the encores started straight away with «Rosalita». Five songs later the night ended with «Twist & Shout», and the band quickly left for the airport, where they had a 1am flight to the U.S.

Next: Saturday at the Bonnaroo Festival, in the state of Tennessee.

Bruce se despidió de Noruega con un concierto de 25 canciones. Aunque en apariencia sea más corto, en realidad duró casi tres horas y contó con nueve canciones distintas respecto a la noche anterior. ¡Y que temas! «Prove it all night» abrió por sorpresa el concierto y marcó un ritmo intenso, seguida de «Badlands». Más tarde sonaron «Spirit in the Night», «Cover me», «Thunder Road» y los estrenos de «Boom Boom» (el clásico eterno de John Lee Hooker) y «Two Hearts».

Debido al viento de cara y al intenso frio, no hubo pausa tras «Born to Run» y el concierto (en teoría ya la sección de bises) prosiguió sin interrupción con una explosiva «Rosalita». La noche concluyó con «Twist & Shout», y los músicos desaparecieron rápidamente, destino al aeropuerto, donde al parecer tenían un vuelo a la 1 de la madrugada con destino a Estados Unidos. La gira continúa este sábado con un concierto en el Bonnaroo Festival en el estado Tennessee.

Max Weinberg & The Tonight Show Band

“Cuando toco con Bruce, me dejo el pelo largo, y tan pronto llego a la tele, me lo corto». Habla Max Weinberg, desde Los Ángeles, con el periodista del New York Times.

Tras años tocando en el programa Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Max y los suyos se han trasladado a Los Angeles, donde Conan ha pasado a ser el presentador del mítico programa nocturno «The Tonight Show», hasta ahora liderado por el humorista Jay Leno, y anteriormente, y durante muchos años, por el mítico Johnny Carson.

El cambio le ha supuesto a Max tener que dejar temporalmente la E Street Band, donde por el momento le sustituye su hijo Jay, y cambiar el nombre de su banda, ahora denominada «Max Weinberg and the Tonight Show Band«. El cambio no ha afectado a los miembros de su combo televisivo, y siguen siendo los mismos músicos/colegas de Nueva Jersey y Philadelphia que formaban los Max Weinberg Seven.

Son Ritchie ‘La Bamba’ Rosenberg y Mark Pender, ambos miembros de los Asbury Jukes de Southside Johnny y también de los Miami Horns de Springsteen o la Seeger Sessions Band; el guitarrista Jimmy Vivino, su hermano Jerry Vivino (saxo) , Scott Healey (teclados), Mike Merritt (bajista) y el recien añadido James Wormworth a la percusión.

Se espera que Max se una de nuevo a la gira de Springsteen a finales de junio.

For the first show of the two-night stand in Bergen, Norway, Springsteen recovers «She’s the One» and brings a tour debut: «Back In Your Arms», soundchecked a few days ago in Stockholm. Amongst the sign requests Bruce picks to play «Hungry Heart», «Because the Night», «Darlington County» and «Cadillac Ranch».
