The unidentified song that Bruce played yesterday at the Omaba Rally was indeed a new Springsteen-penned tune. Backstreets.com confirms it’s a new song that will be part of a new album, possibly to be released in January. Now if dreams came true… wouldn’t that be nice?

Working On A Dream

Out here the nights are long
The days are lonely
I think of you and
I’m working on a dream
I’m working on a dream

Now the cards I’ve drawn
Is a rough hand darlin’
I’ve straightened my back and
I’m working on a dream
I’m working on a dream

I’m working on a dream,
Though sometimes it feels so far away
I’m working on a dream,
And I know it will be mine someday

Rain pouring down
I swing my hammer
My hands are rough from
Working on a dream
I’m working on a dream

I’m working on a dream,
Though trouble can feel like it’s here to stay
I’m working on a dream,
Well our love will chase the trouble away

I’m working on a dream,
Though it can feel so far away
I’m working on a dream,
Our love will make it real someday

The sun rises up,
I climb the ladder
A new day breaks and
I’m working on a dream
I’m working on a dream
I’m working on a dream
I’m working on a dream

I’m working on a dream,
Though it can feel so far away
I’m working on a dream,
Our love will make it real someday
I’m working on a dream,
Oh it can feel so far away
I’m working on a dream,
And our love will make it real someday

Springsteen plays at Obama Rally in Cleveland

Bruce Springsteen warmed up today a crowd of 80,000 people with an acoustic concert on Lakeside Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, at the Change We Need Rally for Democrat candidate Barack Obama. Springsteen has played six songs, including the opening «The Promised Land» plus «Youngstown» and a new unknown song titled «Working on a dream» sung with help from Patti Scialfa. It could be a brand new Springsteen song though there’s no confirmation of that at this point.

After the show the whole Springsteen family joined him onstage, while he introduced Barack Obama and his family, who also joined them onstage. Obama has thanked the Springsteen family for their support.
