First, a real gem: a previously uncirculated film recorded in Houston on Sept. 13th, 1975, during the Born to Run tour. Filmed by a fan in the front row with an 8mm camera. The sound has been added later and comes from a well known soundboard recording of the same show. This is vintage Springsteen, full of energy.

The second is a very recent video. Not great quality, as it was shot with a cell phone, but a unique document nonetheless as it was shot at the recent Ranney School benefit concert. An exclusive event which only parents and teachers of the Ranney School could attend. It’s the first glimpse of one of those private concerts for the school. Filmed at The Stone Pony, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, May 17th 2008.

El primero, una pequeña joya: una filmación inédita de un concierto en Houston el 13 de septiembre de 1975, en plena gira Born to Run. Un aficionado provisto de una cámara de película de 8mm. se atrevió a filmar desde la primerísima fila. El sonido se ha añadido después, usando una grabación existente del mismo concierto. El joven Springsteen, incansable e imparable, en pleno apogeo.

El segundo vídeo, de una de sus más recientes actuaciones, filmado de nuevo desde la primera fila. Aunque la calidad no es perfecta (procede de la cámara de un teléfono móvil), lo interesante es que se trata del concierto privado que Springsteen dio para los profesores y los padres de los alumnos de la escuela de su hijo. Nadie más tenía acceso a ese concierto. Uno de los padres se atrevió a sacar su móvil y éste es el resultado. El concierto se celebró en el pequeño club The Stone Pony, en Asbury Park, New Jersey, el pasado 17 de mayo.

Bruce Springsteen joins Mike Ness at Asbury Park concert

On Saturday May 17th Springsteen joined Mike Ness (ex-Social Distortion) onstage at the second of two shows Ness had at the Stone Pony club in Asbury Park, NJ. Bruce joined for 5 songs during the encores, including the classic «I Fought The Law».

Both had formerly worked together on Ness’ 1999 album Cheating at Solitaire, which had Springsteen singing and playing guitar on some songs.

Springsteen actuó con Mike Ness en Asbury Park

Ocurrió el sábado, 17 de mayo. Springsteen acudió a ver el concierto de su amigo Mike Ness (ex-Social Distortion). En la recta final del concierto de Ness, Bruce subió al escenario en los bises para tocar y cantar en cinco canciones, incluyendo el clásico «I Fought The Law».

Bruce había colaborado anteriormente con Ness en el disco que éste edito en 1999, Cheating at Solitaire, donde Springsteen cantaba y tocaba la guitarra.
