The first of two shows in Anaheim was one of the longest and most intense shows of the whole tour. From the very first song, the tour debut of «Light of Day», the energy level never went down, and Bruce and the E Street Band delivered a great night of pure rock, with burning guitar solos during «Gypsy Biker», which was inmediately followed by a smokin’ «Murder Incorporated». After «Magic», another 20-minute rock attack with «Trapped», «Reason to Believe», «Because the Night» and «She’s the One».
A historic moment arrived in the middle of the show, when Tom Morello, Rage Against the Machine’s extraordinary guitar player, was brought onstage and sang with Bruce a full band, electric version of «The Ghost of Tom Joad», with a blistering guitar solo from Morello at the end of the song.
The intensity of the show went on and on, and at the end of «Badlands», Springsteen yells out to the rest of the band and they start playing a joyful «Out in the Street», being the first time the main set ends with a different song.
More guests soon joined: Bobby Bandiera, coming all the way from New Jersey, came up to play guitar during «Ramrod», and Marc Anthony Thompson & Marty Rifkin (both from the Seeger Sessions Band) joined for «American Land».

El primero de dos conciertos en Anaheim, al sur de Los Ángeles, fue probablemente el más largo de la gira hasta hora, y uno de los más intensos. Ya desde el inicio, con el estreno de una electrizante «Light of Day», Bruce y la E Street Band se enzarzaron en un frenético maratón de rock’n’roll, con incendiarios solos de guitarra en «Gypsy Biker», seguida sin descanso por «Murder Incorporated». Tras una breve pausa con «Magic», otros veinte minutos imparables con «Trapped», «Reason to Believe», «Because the Night» y «She’s the One».
El momento histórico de la noche llegaba minutos después, cuando Springsteen invita al escenario al gran Tom Morello, guitarrista de Rage Against the Machine, y juntos empieza una delirante y potentísima versión eléctrica de «The Ghost of Tom Joad», intercambiando voces y con un indescriptible solo de guitarra de Morello al final de la canción. Rage ya grabaron esa canción hace algunos años, y ambos artistas son amigos desde hace tiempo (Tom incluso asistió al concierto de Bruce en Badalona en 2005, durante la gira Devils & Dust).
El concierto mantuvo esa intensidad hasta el final y, en plena euforia, finalizando «Badlands», Springsteen da instrucciones a la banda y empalman directamente con «Out in the Street», cambiando así el final del concierto por primera vez.
Para los bises suben al escenario diversos invitados. Bobby Bandiera toca la guitarra en «Ramrod», y Marc Anthony Thompson y Marty Rifkin (ambos de la Seeger Sessions Band) tocan en «American Land».
