Last wednesday Springsteen had a phone interview with the newspaper VG from Norway, where he confirms a Fall tour with the Seeger Sessions Band and the reason of his recording session at a studio in Oslo.
About the Fall tour:
«We end the tour June 25 and might be doing a small tour after summer, but it will not be like in the 80’s when we did 130 shows a year, or something like that. The D&D; tour also became quite big, but I have bigger children now, and they don’t like me being away too long, and I really don’t want to be an absent dad. I love this life, the music, the tours… but there must be a balance.»
About his recordings in Oslo:
«We found this lovely little studio down by a canal. I had written some new lyrics to “Bring them home» on the way to Oslo, so I recorded the vocals there. I hope we can use it sometime, maybe on a ‘Seeger Sessions Vol. 2″ , who knows? But at least it’s the first recording I have made in Oslo.»
And finally about a new E Street Band album:
«You know, it was something like that I had in mind before I stumbled across the Seeger Sessions songs. I wrote a lot of new songs already during the D&D; tour, and I’m really looking forward to work with them again. But first I must close this chapter.»
El periódico noruego VG publicó ayer una entrevista exclusiva con Bruce Springsteen. El periodista tuvo la oportunidad de conversar por teléfono con el artista, antes de su concierto en Indianapolis el miércoles pasado.
En dicha conversación Springsteen corrobora que la gira con la Seeger Sessions Band tendrá un descanso en julio y agosto y se reanudará a partir de septiembre:
«La gira acaba el 25 de junio, pero haremos otra mini gira tras el verano. Pero no será como en los años 80 cuando hacíamos 130 conciertos al año o algo así. La gira ‘Devils & Dust’ fue también bastante larga, pero ahora mis hijos son mayores, y no les gusta que esté lejos tanto tiempo, y realmente no quiero ser un padre ausente. Me encanta esta vida; la música, las giras… pero ha de haber un equilibrio».
Durante la entrevista aclara el motivo por el cual hizo algunas grabaciones en un estudio de Oslo durante su estancia en la ciudad:
«Encontré este encantador pequeño estudio al lado del canal. Escribí una nueva letra para la canción «Bring Them Home» mientra viajaba hacia Oslo, así que grabé la nueva letra allí. Espero poder usarla en algún momento, quiza en un «Seeger Sessions vol.2″, ¿quien sabe?».
Preguntado de nuevo sobre un posible disco con la E Street Band, confirma lo que ha venido diciendo en anteriores entrevistas:
«Sabes, lo tenía en mente antes de encontrarme inmerso en la grabación de las canciones de Seeger Sessions. Escribí un montón de nuevas canciones ya durante la gira ‘Devils & Dust’, y tengo ganas de seguir trabajando con ellas. Pero primero debo cerrar esta etapa».
En resumen, tendremos más gira con la Seeger Sessions Band antes de fin de año (con visita a España confirmada por el propio Springsteen), y disco con la E Street Band en un futuro (¿2007?).
