Oscar-winning film director Jonathan Demme passed away Wednesday April 26th in New York City. He was 73. He was known for films like “Something Wild” (1986), “The Silence of the Lambs” (1991) or “Philadelphia” (1993), along with the fantastic Talking Heads concert-movie “Stop Making Sense” (1984) or several music clips for Bruce Springsteen: “Murder Incorporated”, “Streets of Philadelphia” and “If I Should Fall Behind”.
Springsteen himself has published an eulogy in his website:
“Over here on E Street, we’re deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jonathan Demme. He was an inspiration for me, a beautiful filmmaker and a great spirit. Always smiling, always involved with the world and always pushing you to go for your best. He’ll be deeply missed.”
