OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FOR "VOTE FOR CHANGE" TOUR
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND TO TOUR IN SUPPORT OF VOTE FOR CHANGE Bruce Springsteen is excited to announce his participation in the Vote for Change concert tour.
Between October 1 and October 8, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at five Vote for Change concerts, sharing the bill with R.E.M., and Bright Eyes with a special appearance by John Fogerty (see dates below). Vote for Change is a loose coalition of musicians brought together by a single idea—the need to make a change in the direction of our country. We share a belief that this is the most important election of our lifetime. We are fighting for a government that is open, rational, just and progressive. "I felt like I couldn't have written the music I've written, and been on stage singing about the things that I've sung about for the last twenty five years and not take part in this particular election," said Bruce Springsteen.

Artists participating in Vote for Change have merged their energies and talents to focus on states that are expected to have the closest race in the presidential election this fall. This unprecedented effort will include approximately 34 shows in 28 cities in 9 battleground states over the course of a week.
These concerts will feature

Jackson Browne

BRUCE IS ON THE NRA'S "ENEMIES LIST"
In an article by Bob Herbert published in the New York Times on October 13th the writer reveals that Bruce Springsteen, among many others, is on a public list of enemies of the National Riffle Association that was included in the NRA's website recently. Other people in the list includes Sting, Jerry Seinfeld, Britney Spears, Susan Sarandon, Madonna, Spike Lee, Richard Gere, Lauren Bacall, Ed Asner, Tony Bennett, Jon Bongiovi, Sean Connery, Kevin Costner, Billy Cristal, Matt Damon, Michael Douglas, Lenny Kravitz, Jack Nicholson or the whole Zappa family. Meanwhile, a web site called http://www.nrablacklist.com/ explains the situation and indicates how to get the honour of appearing in the list of "enemies" of the NRA.

COMPLETE BARCELONA SHOW ON DOUBLE DVD
It seems now for real. The complete concert from Barcelona 2002 will be released on a double DVD in mid november. It's the first time Bruce releases a complete, unedited concert video. Also out in November will be "The Essential Bruce Springsteen", a double CD compiling songs from his entire career. The first edition will have a third, bonus disc, filled with unreleased songs, including "County Fair" as Springsteen himself comented to fans who met him in New York City after the final show of the tour.

THIS IS THE LAST DANCE
The Rising tour ended in grand style at Shea Stadium with 3 superb performances. The final show on October 4th was the longest show of the tour, with 3 hours and 20 minutes and 30 songs. In total Springsteen performed 43 different songs during 3-night stand in New York City. There were lots of tour debuts (Wish I Were Blind, Roulette, Johnny 99, Quarter to Three, Highway 61 Revisited, Another Thin Line, Code of Silence...) and many guests, including Bob Dylan who joined Bruce onstage on October 4th to sing (?) and play (?) during "Highway 61 Revisited". Other guests included Willie Nile, Gary US Bonds and Garland Jeffreys, for a final version of "Twist and Shout".

GETTING HIS BEST OUT IN DENVER
He gave his best in Denver with a spectacular 3-hour show that opened with Bob Seger's "Get Out of Denver" and included such gems as "Tunnel of Love", "Across The Border", "Kitty's Back" and more. Check out the complete Denver set list. Brendan O'Brien guested on guitar during "Rosalita".

22 September 2003
REVISITING HUMAN TOUCH/LUCKY TOWN
"Human Touch", "Living Proof", "Leap of Faith", "Souls of the Departed"... and now "Local Hero" and "My Beautiful Reward" add up to the sum of songs from Human Touch and Lucky Town that have been added to the set list in recent weeks. A guest appearance of Martha Reeves (of Vandellas fame) to sing "Heatwave" is one of the highlights of last night's show in Detroit.

21 September 2003
TUNNEL OF TIME
It was 25 years ago that Bruce Springsteen performed at Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey, during 3 consecutive nights where he did spectacular set lists. 25 years later he is still able to amaze us. Last night in Buffalo he opened with "Tunnel of Love", followed by "Brilliant Disguise". But the biggest and most unexpected surprise of the night came after "Countin' on a Miracle", when he performed the yet unreleased "County Fair", a fabulous outtake from the Born in the USA sessions that has been a favorite of collectors for some years. Is this an indication of the kind of "bonus" tracks that we'll find on the upcoming "The Essential Bruce Springsteen" 3CD set? Let's hope so.

19 September 2003
HURRICANE SPRINGSTEEN HITS HARTFORD
It wasn't Isabel, it was Hurricane Bruce that hit Hartford last night with an impressive concert. Tour premieres of "Souls of the Departed" (in the opening slot), and "Factory", and quite a bit of rarities: "Leap of Faith", "Living Proof", "Incident on 57th Street", "I'm Goin' Down" and "Janey Don't You Loose Heart".

17 September 2003
SHOW TAKES A LEAP OF FAITH
New surprises come up at every show, and Hartford was no different. Tour premiere for "The Ghost of Tom Joad", "Leap of Faith" and live debut for "Let's Be Friends", the only track off The Rising that hadn't been played live.

16 September 2003
NEW BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN RELEASES DUE IN NOVEMBER
And not only one but two: first off the compilation called "The Essential Bruce Springsteen", a 2CD set that will have a 3rd bonus disc on the first limited edition. The disc is said to contain "rarities" and unreleased stuff, but no word yet on which songs it'll include.

Another rumoured release seems to be for real: a double DVD from the Barcelona 2002 concert that would also include interviews and backstage footage. No further details are known yet.

8 September 2003
BOSS-TON ROCKS
The second show in Boston lived up to the expectations... and yet more. A rockin' set that opened again with "Diddy Wah Diddy", saw the tour's debut of "Frankie" and included "Spirit in the Night" and "For You" from his debut album plus the rockers "Adam Raised a Cain", "She's The One", "Because The Night" and "Further On Up The Road". Peter Wolf joined Bruce both nights for a final encore of the classic "Dirty Water". Check out full set lists on our Setlist Page.

GRAND FINALE IN NEW YORK CITY
It's finally official: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will end their most succesful tour since 1985 at Shea Stadium in New York City. The dates are October 1st and 3rd and tickets will go on sale thru Ticketmaster on monday September 3rd 10am. Two more shows are expected to be added if there's enough demand.

The official press release follows:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 2, 2003
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND ANNOUNCE OCTOBER 1 AND 3 DATES AT NEW YORK'S SHEA STADIUM

Springsteen and the Band to play Shea Stadium almost 40 years after Beatles' historic first concert there.

Tickets go on sale September 8 for Grand Finale of 2002-2003 world tour.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play New York's Shea Stadium October 1 and 3 for the final stop of their wildly successful 2002-2003 world tour. Tickets for the shows, Springsteen's first ever at Shea and the first major rock concert there in eleven years, go on sale September 8 at 10:00am.

Tickets will be available by phone via Ticketmaster at (212) 307-7171 or (212) 307-7200 (automated), or online at Ticketmaster.com.

When Springsteen and the Band perform at Shea Stadium, they will have played 119 concerts in 82 cities around the world, selling more than 3 million tickets since the tour began August 7, 2002, in East Rutherford, NJ.

Just three weeks ago, the San Francisco Chronicle's Joel Selvin wrote, "In front of his people, no entertainer on Earth has ever been more powerful, more persuasive than Bruce Springsteen."

According to Springsteen's longtime manager Jon Landau, "Over the last 30 years, New York has been central to Bruce's performing career. He played on the same bill with Bob Marley at Max's Kansas City in 1973, did his legendary Bottom Line shows in New York in 1975, played Madison Square Garden for the first time in 1978, and ended his 2000 tour with the E Street Band with ten shows at Madison Square Garden. So, it's extraordinarily appropriate that the grand finale of this most successful of all Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tours will take place at New York's Shea Stadium. I'm sure they will be nights to remember."

The dates will be presented by Radio City Entertainment and the New York Mets.

"The New York Mets are thrilled that Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will make their final stop of their world tour at Shea Stadium," said Dave Howard, Mets Executive Vice President, Business Operations. "We are excited to continue the long-standing tradition of bringing the finest artists in rock-n-roll history to Shea."

"It's only natural that this historic event will come about, since it takes advantage of two terrific partnerships - theÊNew York Mets and Madison Square Garden, and, of course, the strong relationship between Madison Square Garden/Radio City Entertainment and the incredible Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band," commented Joel Peresman, Executive Vice President, Radio City Entertainment.

The Beatles played Shea Stadium in 1965, marking the first major stadium rock concert on U.S. soil. Springsteen and the Band's shows will mark the first major rock concerts at Shea since a 1992 show there featuring Elton John and Eric Clapton.

Springsteen's latest album, 'The Rising,' was released by Columbia Records on July 30, 2002.

NEW JERSEY SPECIAL
Philadelphia has proven to be the most exciting town... YES, YES, it's true, but New Jersey goes ahead when it comes to surprises and set list changes. And the final 3 shows at Giants Stadiums were no different. "Janey Don't You Lose Heart" opened the August 30th show which also included "Across the Border" with Emmylou Harris, "Raise Your hand (with guests Marah) and "Pretty Flamingo" prior to "Rosalita". On the final night, "Cynthia" (a world premiere) opened a show full of rarities: "Lucky Town", "Because the Night", "Lost in the Flood", "Spirit in the Night", "Kitty's Back" and a final encore of "Jersey Girl". The final run of the tour, at Shea Stadium, is pending on an inmediate announcement.

PHILADELPHIA SPECIAL

CALIFORNIA TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
Here's the official press release:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 22, 2003
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E STREET BAND ANNOUNCE WEST
COAST STADIUM TOUR DATES

Springsteen and the Band to play their first show in San Francisco since 1978 (Pacific Bell Park, August 16) and first ever show at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium (August 17). Tickets on sale Monday, July 28 at 10:00am

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced two new concert dates on the West Coast: August 16 at San Francisco's Pacific Bell Park and August 17 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The shows are Springsteen and the Band's only stadium appearances in California scheduled for their current 2002-2003 world tour, and, along with an already announced date in Denver, CO, the tour's only West Coast concerts.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Monday, July 28 at 10:00 am. Visit Ticketmaster.com or contact the venues for specific information on ticket sales.

The California dates are historically significant for Springsteen and the Band, marking their first concert ever at Dodger Stadium and their first concert in the city of San Francisco since a 1978 show at the legendary Winterland club.

These dates extend Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's 2002-2003 tour - widely considered the best and most successful in the world of the last year. Since it began on August 7, 2002, Springsteen and the E Street Band have sold an astonishing near-3 million tickets worldwide, including 1.1 million on their recent 24 date, 13 city European tour and over 1.1
million so far for this summer's US stadium tour.

22 July 2003
WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS
Old songs, old friends... Vini Lopez joined Bruce onstage to play drums on the first encore "Spirit in the Night". The 7/21 show also included "Night", "Jackson Cage", a full-band version of "For You", "Where the Bands Are" and "Hungry Heart". And yes, "Rosalita" is there too.

17 July 2003

16 July 2003
ROSIE'S BACK IN JERSEY
A strong 26-song set opens the 7-night stand at Giant Stadium with "Rosalita" still in the encores along with "Seven Nights to Rock" (couldn't be more appropriate). "Sherry Darling", "The River" and "No Surrender" are still there too. Bruce makes some new political remarks about the US government's decisions: "It's always wrong, never more so than when there are real lifes at stake.... It's not a Republican or Democrat question, it's not a liberal or conservative question, it's an American question.... protecting our democracy we ask our sons and daughters to die for." See full set list in our Set Lists page.
