Double shot of Springsteen

BruceBonoJessicaAfter this summer’s appearances at shows by Brian Wilson and Joe Grushecky, Bruce Springsteen performed live twice this past weekend, in two consecutive days.

Friday July 31st, and after a week-long string of rumours, Bruce performed with U2 at their final Madison Square Garden show in New York City, and sang with them “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and the non-setlisted “Stand By Me”.

The following night was really unexpected. The small Wonder Bar in Asbury Park held a private party, organized by Patti Scialfa under the name of “First Bozo and Bolo Deal Rowdy Reunion”. Bruce joined Michael Scialfa’s band Timepiece, playing guitar on most of the set (including “You Really Got a Hold on Me”, “Oh, Pretty Woman” or “634-5789”), and taking lead vocals on Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” and CCR’s “Born on the Bayou”.
