Sydney #3

Sydney’s third and final performance has been nothing but extraordinary. It has been a return to a more classic Wrecking Ball concert set list, similar to those in the first weeks of the tour, opening with “We Take Care of Our Own” and “Wrecking Ball”, followed by “Night”, “Death to My Hometown” and “Hungry heart” (with crowdsurfing and beer drinking included). After “My City of Ruins”, back in its usual spot early in the set, Bruce has been picking sign requests from the crowd, which as a result have brought stellar performances of “Growin’ Up”, “The E Street Shuffle”, “Prove it all Night” (with ’78 intro) and “Trapped”.

A beautiful “The River”  was next, before entering into “party-mode” with the contagious “Pay Me My Money Down”, “Darlington County”, “Working on the Highway”, “Shackled and Drawn” and “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day”.

The most intense part of the show featured a stunning “Backstreets”, then “The Ghost of Tom Joad”, “Badlands” and “Thunder Road” to triumphally close the main set. A rousing “Born in the U.S.A.” opened the encore set, which tonight, after “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out” featured an extra song after Bruce picked up a request for “Rosalita” from a Spanish fan.
