After a brief pause, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band resumed yesterday their Working on a Dream tour in Hartford. In a nice amphitheatre, with a small standing area in the front and with lots of heat, the show started with Nils, Charlie and Roy performing an instrumental “Sherry Darling”, which was quickly followed by the full band version of this great summer song.

“Murder Incorporated” stays in the set as part of the ‘Depression’ trilogy (alongside “Seeds” and “Johnny 99″), this time followed by a great “Something in the Night”. The sign requests brought “Mountain of Love” and, for the first time since 1975, Manfred Mann’s “Sha La La” (a song Bruce used to play often in the Born to Run tour).

Before playing “Be True” Bruce went on to explain the song was left off The River in favour of “Crush On You”, a decision he regretted (but apparently Steve doesn’t). The main set continued nonstop after “Born to Run”, with both “Rosalita” and “Thunder Road”. The 4-song encore started with “Hard Times”, a song that was left off most of the recent European shows. “Twist & Shout” put an end to a long and very hot show.

Tras un descanso vacacional, Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band reemprendieron ayer la gira Working on a Dream en Hartford. En un anfiteatro, con una pequeña zona delantera de pista y un calor sofocante, el concierto empezó con Nils, Charlie y Roy al acordeón tocando “Sherry Darling”. Con la banda al completo en el escenario la canción siguió en su versión eléctrica original.

La incendiaria “Murder Incorporated” se mantuvo como parte de la trilogía (junto a “Seeds” y “Johnny 99″), seguida en esta ocasión por “Something in the Night”. Las peticiones de este concierto trajeron versiones de “Mountain of Love” y, por primera vez desde 1975, “Sha La La” (de Manfred Mann, tocada frecuentemente por Bruce en la gira Born to Run).

Antes de “Be True” Bruce explicó que quedó descartada para el álbum The River en favor de “Crush On You”, una decisión de la cual se arrepentía ahora. Al set principal, que suele acabar con “Born to Run”, en esta ocasión se añadieron “Rosalita” y “Thunder Road”. Los bises, por tanto, los formaron sólo cuatro canciones, incluyendo el regreso de “Hard Times”, practicamente ignorada en la gira europea.

El número de agosto de la revista This is Rock lleva a Bruce Springsteen en portada. La revista dedica 12 páginas al artista, centradas en su época de 1978. El artículo es un extracto del libro “American Madness” de Julio Valdeón, ilustrado con estupendas fotos de la gira de Darkness on the Edge of Town, muchas de ellas inéditas ( tampoco aparecen en el libro).

Springsteen finalizes 2009 tour dates

Bruce Springsteen has added today 3 more shows to the 2009 tour itinerary. The band will play in Des Moines, Baltimore and Buffalo, and according to the official press release Springsteen and The E Street Band “finalize remaining 2009 tour dates”.

These are the new shows announced today:

21 Sept.2009 Des Moines, IA Wells Fargo Arena (on sale Aug. 22)
20 Nov. 2009 Baltimore, MD 1st Mariner Arena (on sale Sept. 25)
22 Nov. 2009 Buffalo, NY HSBC Arena (on sale Sept. 12)

The press release also announces: “They will perform the entirety of the landmark album ‘Born To Run’ at concerts on September 20 in Chicago, IL and November 18 in Nashville, TN.”

Springsteen finalizará su gira de 2009 el 22 de noviembre

Bruce Springsteen ha anunciado hoy los últimos conciertos del 2009. En un comunicado oficial emitido hoy, se han confirmado nuevas (y últimas) fechas, siendo Buffalo (New York) la ciudad elegida para acoger el último concierto de este año.

Los conciertos añadidos hoy son:

21 Sept.2009 Des Moines, IA Wells Fargo Arena (a la venta el 22 de agosto)
20 Nov. 2009 Baltimore, MD 1st Mariner Arena (a la venta el 25 de septiembre)
22 Nov. 2009 Buffalo, NY HSBC Arena (a la venta el 12 de septiembre)

Según el comunicado, con estos conciertos “finalizan las fechas de la gira 2009″. Además, confirma que en los conciertos de Chicago (20 Sept.) y Nashville (18 Nov.) Springsteen tocará el álbum Born to Run al completo.
